Marielle Leo PhD, MFT-Intern
Staff Therapist
Professionally, I hold an advanced degree in Trauma-Informed Practice from Syracuse
University and a doctorate from Texas Woman’s University. I am Brainspotting certified, a
focused mindfulness approach particularly effective in addressing Trauma and Complex PTSD,
as well as a variety of other issues. My passion lies in unraveling the layers of wounding
experiences that often obscure the authentic selves we are meant to be. Through trauma-
focused work, I guide individuals through the process of rediscovering their truth, rewiring the
impact of historical core wounds from childhood, and changing the faulty programming that no
longer serves them.
I specialize in trauma-related issues among individuals, children, adolescents, and families. My
approach extends to the use of virtual and/or in-person Sand Tray therapy, fostering a safe and
trusting therapeutic environment. Prioritizing establishing safety and trust, my therapeutic
methodology is grounded in a strengths-based approach, emphasizing the development of a
robust self-concept and the healing journey toward self-compassion, and understanding.
Furthermore, my research expertise extends to addressing bullying and family bullying
behaviors, emphasizing the importance of resilience and empowerment in overcoming these
challenges. In addition to traditional therapeutic methods, I incorporate Expansion Brainspotting
to facilitate the exploration of joy, guiding individuals back to their authentic selves. Let's embark
on a transformative journey together, focusing on healing, self-discovery, and reclaiming your
true essence.
